Research Officer Human and Health Sciences Central, Swansea University
I am a sociologist with a particular interest in ethnographic and qualitative research methods. My research focuses primarily on infection prevention control and enhancing patient safety by reducing healthcare associated infections and complications. I combine this work with a keen interest in historical sociology and the impact of class and place upon social, cultural and economic life.
I have worked at three universities in the UK. I have a first class honours degree in sociology and a PhD, both from Cardiff University. I have undertaken research and policy work for the Welsh Refugee Council, and have been a member of the Welsh Assembly Government ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Strategy Advisory Group.
