I joined the University of Reading as Lecturer in 1998 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2004 and to a Readership in 2005. Prior to this, I was a lecturer at the University of East Anglia and a Junior Research Officer in Cambridge, where I obtained my Ph.D. in 1992.
