Dr. Nordquist studies farm animal welfare, focusing on behavior, cognition and neuroscience in poultry and pigs. After growing up in the city, and studying learning and memory in rodents, she moved to farm animals a little over a decade ago and found out that farm animals are so much smarter and more complex than we give them credit for. She conducts her research at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University, the Netherlands.
