PhD student, Department of English, Concordia University My research interests include place formations and the subject formation practices enabled by places. My current project investigates questions of place formation in nineteenth century colonial accounts of expeditions. With a focus on the links between the formation of tropics in nineteenth century literature, contemporary literature and environmental humanities, my project brings together colonial journals , manuals written by colonial physicians and speculative fiction.
