Azad Singh Bali

Senior Lecturer in Public Policy, Australian National University
Azad Singh Bali is Senior Lecturer in Public Policy and holds a joint appointment at the at the Crawford School of Public Policy and The School of Politics and International Relations. Prior to the ANU, Bali held fellowships at the University of Melbourne and Murdoch University. His research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of social policy, public financial management, and policy theory. Some of his research has been published in Policy & Society, Public Policy & Administration, Social Policy & Administration, and the Australian Journal of Public Administration.
His current projects include:

The Struggle for Universal Healthcare in Asia: A large comparative study that explores the design, governance, and politics of healthcare in Asia.

The Political Economy of Welfare Regimes in Asia: A comparative study of a) the design; b) policy dynamics; c) the politics of healthcare and social security programs in developing Asia.

Thinking Comparatively about Policy Tools & Public Policy: This project develops a novel framework to theorise comparative studies in the policy sciences, and improve our understanding of policy success and failure.
