Dara Conduit is an Associate Research Fellow at Deakin University and a PhD candidate at Monash University working on the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood’s role in the Syrian uprising. Ms. Conduit co-convenes the Australian Terrorism & Political Violence Research Network and has provided advice on foreign fighters and human rights to the UN OHCHR’s Working Group on Mercenaries. She is the co-editor of the recently released Iran in the World: President Rouhani’s Foreign Policy, and has had work published in journals including the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, the Middle East Journal and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism. Ms. Conduit also holds a M. Litt in Middle East and Central Asian Security Studies from the University of St. Andrews, a BA (Hons) from Monash University and a Diploma of Languages (Arabic) from Deakin University. In 2015, she was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge.
