Professor Cutler is a Medical Microbiologist who has specialised on infections acquired from animals (zoonoses). She has experience working in medical, veterinary and academic settings. She is actively involved with the Society for Applied Microbiology and deputy chair of the Institute for Biomedical Sciences virology advisory panel.
She has more than 120 publications and regularly contribute to refereeing of funding applications and submitted publications by others. She serves as an associate editor for Clinical Microbiology and Infection.
