Dr. Jay Jeong (BCom Otago, MIS/PhD Melb) is a researcher for the Cybersecurity Cooperative Research Centre exploring next-generation Digital ID services and technologies. He is also an external lecturer at the University of Melbourne, where he is responsible for the delivery of several Master of Information Systems subjects pertaining to ICT Outsourcing & Contracts.
Prior to his current role, he was a Research Fellow at Monash University, investigating how a nations cybersecurity capability is influenced by socio-cultural factors. This research was undertaken in conjunction with the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC) and Oxford University.
On top of his academic positions, Jay also has extensive industry experience serving as the the Managing Director of Elegant Minds - a digital advisory company, and as the head of the Webasia Initiative at Melbourne IT where he was responsible for orchestrating a strategic partnership agreement with Alibaba.
