An anthropologist by training, Laura’s background spans arts, humanities and social sciences. She values genuinely interdisciplinary collaborative research and is currently employed in socio-legal research on UK social policy. Prior to her work on an ESRC-funded Covid-19 Rapid Response project at Birmingham Law School, Laura worked as an editor, translator, and project manager. She was project manager and research fellow on ‘Enabling Wayang to Contribute to Environmental Discourse in Indonesia’, a multilingual research project funded by the British Council and a Newton Fund Institutional Links grant. She is also network facilitator for the Criminal Law Reform Now Network and assistant editor of Indonesia and the Malay World.
