My research interests are nurient cycling and microbial ecology. In the past, I concentrated on interactions between plant roots and microbes in the rhizosphere and how this influences phopshorus uptake by plants. Then I became more interested in soil organic carbon dynamics and how they are affected by soil salinity and water content. Of particular interest to me now are organic carbon dynamics in: sandy soils amended with clay; acid sulfate soils.
