Lecturer in Modern British History, University of Manchester I specialise in Anglo-Caribbean relations over the past two hundred years. My first monograph details intellectual, political and diplomatic exchanges between Britain and the Black sovereign state of Haiti in Victorian period. More recently, I have been working on the Caribbean presence in Britain in the second half of the twentieth century, especially processes of settlement, community and neighbourhood formation and local Black print cultures.
