I research and teach in all areas of public and private international law. My present focus is on international and transnational dispute resolution, the law of international organisations, technology and international law, and how public and private international law interact in various settings. I have a PhD from King’s College London which I undertook as a Dickson Poon Scholar of Law, Advanced Masters in Public International Law from Leiden University, and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University. I have held positions at Dublin City University, London School of Economics and Political Science, and have been a Laureate Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales. I have also spent time at the Berlin Potsdam Research Group ‘The International Rule of Law – Rise or Decline?”, where I continue to be an Affiliated Fellow. I am the author or co-editor of several books and articles, including International Organisations and Access to Justice (Cambridge University Press, 2022), Elgar Companion on the Hague Conference on Private International Law (Edward Elgar, 2020), Elgar Companion on the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (Edward Elgar, 2023), and The Elgar Companion on the Institute for the Unification of Private Law (Edward Elgar, 2023 (forthcoming)).
