Professor of Aerospace Engineering, University of Michigan Veera Sundararaghavan is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and the director of Multiscale Structural Simulations Laboratory. His research is on multi-length scale computational techniques for modelling and design of aerospace materials with a focus on microstructural mechanics and molecular simulation. He is particularly interested in new computational techniques that can revolutionize the way we compute in materials science: machine learning and quantum computing algorithms. He has published over 75 journal articles and made over 100 national and international presentations. He was awarded the 2010 NSF CAREER award, the 2012 DTRA Young Investigator Award and 2019 AFRL Faculty Fellowship. He is a lifetime member of AIAA, TMS and ASME.
