PhD student of LGBT+ and Education at The University of Essex, Department of Sociology and Criminology, University of Essex EJ-Francis Caris-Hamer is a doctoral student at the University of Essex (Department of Sociology). Ze is a qualified educator who has worked as a teacher/leader since 2003, and currently lecturing at the University of Essex. Previous publications include an edited chapter in ‘Diverse Educators: A Manifesto’ (2022), and ‘Consent: Gender, Power and Subjectivity’ (2023). EJ’s research interest includes Queer theory/application, Sexuality, Gender, Education, Relationships and Sex Education, and Criminology.
