Research Associate, University of the Witwatersrand Dostin Lakika holds a PhD with a focus on migration and displacement at the African Centre for Migration and Society (ACMS), University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. His research interests include the study of militarisation, violence, and memories; the exploration of (ir)regular migration, resilience, and (mental) health among refugees; and the examination of the relationship between food and illness. Lakika is also a reviewer for several peer-reviewed academic journals. He currently holds a research associate position at the ACMS and the French Institute of South Africa.
