Prof John Frank MD, CCFP, MSc, FRCPC, FFPH, FRSE, LLD (Professorial Fellow and former Director of Knowledge Exchange and Research Impact, Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh) is a Canadian physician-epidemiologist, largely educated at the University of Toronto, with 47 years of primary care/ public health practice, research, teaching and consulting, in four countries as a resident, and many more as a guest. He has led three new start-up non-profit Institutes/Centres for applied public health research, in Canada and Scotland, since 1991. His special area of expertise is health inequalities by socio-economic status, as well as work as a determinant of health.
