My most recent book was "War Without Bodies: Framing Death from the Crimean to the Iraq War" (Rutgers University Press, 2022) I am particularly interested in images of war and how they implicitly make war both justified and acceptable for a general public. I have also published books and articles on Victorian history and culture and contemporary versions of the Victorian like steampunk. I work in Victorian and neo-Victorian studies.
