Professor of Economics, University of Nottingham In 1994 Spiros completed his PhD studies in Economics at Penn State University in USA and then he crossed the pond to join Staffordshire University as a Lecturer. In 1999 Spiros joined the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham where he is currently a Professor of Economics. His area of expertise is financial economics and his current research interests include systemic risk in financial markets, financial contracting and the international financial architecture.
