Associate Professor in Public Health and Policy, Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University of Wellington I am based at Victoria University of Wellington and teach about health policy and health systems. I am currently leading the evaluation of Healthy Families NZ - a multi-community policy intervention to prevent chronic illnesses. I have a keen interest in complexity theory and its application to social systems and the empirical evidence on health. My research focus to date has mainly been examining interventions to address population health challenges, including the social determinants and equity, to better understand their potential effectiveness. I am an Principal Investigator with Te Pūnaha Matatini, the Aotearoa New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) for complex systems.
