Lecturer in the Heritage of the Middle East, University of Leicester
Selena is a lecturer in the heritage of the Middle East at the University of Leicester. Her research centres on the languages, literature and culture of ancient Mesopotamia, with a particular emphasis on poetry and divination.
She is the author of a book titled "Weapons of Words: Intertextual Competition in Babylonian Poetry", and has another being published by Penguin in 2025 called "The Library of Ancient Wisdom", which is available for pre-order now. Alongside her research, Selena has also written a trilogy of plays set in ancient Assyria
