Professor of Sociology, University of Stirling My PhD was an ethnographic study of rural childhoods in Bolivia. I carried out research in Childhood Studies for 20 years and in 2013 I switched to researching the sociology of bridge, the card game. With a team of researchers and several projects relating to the sociology of mindsport, we have set up ‘Bridge: A MindSport for All’. This work is contributing to the development of a new academic field, Mindsport Studies, which sits between sport studies and leisure studies.
