Katy Hayward is Senior Lecturer in Sociology and Senior Research Fellow at the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice at Queen's University Belfast. She researches and teaches on the political sociology of Ireland, north and south. Her research focuses in particular on conflict and reconciliation, European integration, nationalism and cross-border cooperation. She is currently lead partner on the Irish case study of the Borders in Globalization project funded by the SSHRC (www.biglobalisation.org).
