My work is focused on the role of mitochondrial import and autophagy (i.e. mitophagy) in cardiovascular disease models of protein aggregation. These studies integrate protein/gene expression analyses and high resolution microscopy with physiological evaluation of mitochondrial and cardiac function in both cell and pre-clinical animal models
