Research Project Leader, German Linguistics, University of Münster Dr. Anna-Maria Balbach is a linguist at the German Department of the University of Münster, Germany. Her research areas are historical and modern socio- and cultural linguistics. Anna is particularly interested in the connections between language and denominational affiliation and language and cultural-historical influence. Her current projects include a study of language and confession in radio (funded by the German Research Foundation), a study of the linguistic design of alchemical recipe collections (funded by the University of Münster), and a study of the development and specificity of given names in Europe.
