Associate Professor Leanne Hassett (PhD; MHlthSc(NeuroPHTY); BAppSc(PHTY))
Leanne is an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. She also co-leads the Implementation Science Academy within Sydney Health Partners, an accredited National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Advanced Health Research and Translation Centre. Leanne conducts her research within the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, leading the research theme of physical activity for people with disabilities. She also holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellowship position in South Western Sydney Local Health District, where she worked clinically for 15 years in adult traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation.
Leanne’s current research focuses on synthesis of evidence, and testing effectiveness and implementation of physical activity interventions in healthcare and in the community. She has made a significant contribution to the understanding of how to deliver and promote physical activity in people with moderate to severe TBI through the conduct of clinical trials, systematic reviews and the recent development of a national clinical practice guideline.
