Extraordinary Professor in the Division of Health Systems and Public Health, Stellenbosch University Dr Yogan Pillay is the country director of the Clinton Health Access Initiative in South Africa and senior director for universal health coverage. He has worked in the National Department of Health in various capacities. His expertise and interests are in health policy and implementation science. He has published widely on global health as well as HIV, tuberculosis and maternal and child health. In 2021 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Cape Town and in the same year appointed extraordinary professor in the Division of Health Systems and Public Health, Department of Global Health, Stellenbosch University.
