Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Sociology, University of Calgary Hamid Akbary is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology at the University of Calgary. He was previously a SSHRC Doctoral Fellow at the University of Calgary where he completed his PhD in sociology (2016-2022) and a Fulbright Fellow at Lehigh University where he completed his MA in sociology (2013-2015). He researches the socio-economic experiences and gender identity reconstruction of ethnic minorities. His work has been published in the Journal of Aging and Social Policy and the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. In addition to his academic affiliation, Hamid Akbary works as an Analyst at the Prairie Regional Data Centre (PRC RDC), Statistics Canada, Government of Canada.
