Sarah Dickie

PhD Candidate in Public Health Nutrition, Deakin University

PhD Candidate in Public Health Nutrition, Deakin University Sarah Dickie is a Public Health Nutritionist currently completing a PhD in Food Policy at Deakin University's Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN). Her PhD analyses the science underpinning the use of nutrition classification schemes in policy actions. Sarah's research to date has focused on evaluating the implementation of Australia’s Health Star Rating front-of-pack labelling system and develping methods to incorporate the NOVA classification system into policy actions. She is a founding member of the advocacy group Healthy Food Systems Australia.

Janet Muhling

Adjunct Research Fellow, Earth Sciences, The University of Western Australia

Adjunct Research Fellow, Earth Sciences, The University of Western Australia Janet completed her B.Sc (Hons) at UWA in 1972 with a research project looking at the role of banded iron formation in the genesis of nickel sulphide mineralisation at Mt Windarra, W.A. After four years working for industry and GSWA she returned to UWA to undertake post-graduate studies of high-grade metamorphic rocks in the Narryer Terrane of the northern Yilgarn Craton. Extensive experience of electron probe microanalysis as part of her PhD project led to a post-doctoral fellowship in the Electron Microscopy Centre (now CMCA) on completion of her post-graduate studies. Janet returned to consulting and contracting work in the mineral exploration industry in 1991 before returning to UWA and CMCA as a Research Associate in 2005 and retiring in 2016. She has been an Adjunct Research Fellow in the School of Earth Sciences since 2016.

Adjunct Professor, The University of Western Australia

Adjunct Professor, The University of Western Australia I have undergraduate (BSc, Hons) and postgraduate (PhD) degrees from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Perth, Australia. I worked as a Development Geologist with WAPET before returning to UWA, where I was awarded: i) an ARC Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship (1997-1999) for research on tracing ancient oil migration; ii) an ARC Queen Elizabeth II Fellowship (2000-2005) on the application of phosphate minerals to date major environmental and biological events in the early rock record, and; iii) an ARC Australian Professorial Fellowship (2011-2016) to investigate the early history of atmospheric oxygen and the Great Oxidation Event. This work has focussed on tracing the composition of the early hydrosphere and atmosphere through time, and the antiquity and evolution of early life. In 2006, a major research program was initiated, funded by the ARC and industry (BHP, Rio Tinto), on the transformation of banded iron formations to iron ore. Current research is centred on understanding: i) how iron formations were deposited and what they tell us about ancient ocean chemistry; ii) the early history of phosphorus and the co-evolution of life; iii) Precambrian carbon and the origin of ancient fossils; iv) the tectonic and mineralization history of Precambrian cratons and orogenic belts, and; v) the potential role of mineral templates in the development of the first living cells.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychiatric Epidemiology, Karolinska Institutet

Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychiatric Epidemiology, Karolinska Institutet Lisa Dinkler is a postdoctoral researcher in psychiatric epidemiology at the Centre for Eating Disorders Innovation (CEDI) with primary research interest in eating disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders. Her current research focuses mainly on avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Using epidemiological and twin designs as well as genome-wide association studies, I am trying to understand the genetic and environmental causes of ARFID, its comorbidities (e.g., with autism, ADHD, and anxiety), and its course over time.
