data.world Joins Forces with The White House on The Opportunity Project

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 06, 2016 -- data.world today announced its participation in the White House’s  “Opportunity Project”, a new open data effort to improve economic mobility for all Americans by putting data and digital tools in the hands of families, communities, and local leaders.

Through its participation in this historic program, data.world has developed the “Enhanced Opportunity Project Data Workspace”, a social and dynamic data collaboration environment for all Opportunity Project data from 11 federal agencies and 12 cities. This data environment makes it easy for data scientists, educators, civic technologists and citizens to find and use Opportunity Project data both within and across agencies and cities.  All the data is normalized and accompanied by enhanced metadata and the context required to make future users of the data more productive.  A live demo of the new Workspace will be included in The Opportunity Project event this afternoon at the White House.
