GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 25, 2016 -- eRAD announced today that it has successfully deployed its Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS for Motshudi, Bergman and Ross Radiologists—an imaging practice that will serve as the in-house radiology department for Netcare Pinehaven Hospital in Johannesburg.
eRAD is a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc., and a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions. The sale came through eRAD’s authorized reseller in South Africa, Cryanic Medical Solutions.
Netcare Pinehaven Hospital is the newest facility built by the largest hospital group in South Africa. Motshudi, Bergman and Ross Radiologists (MBR) were awarded the tender to perform complete in-house radiology services at Pinehaven.
“We knew from the outset that there would be a spotlight on us to perform,” said Dr. Thapelo Motshudi, a specialist radiologist and principal at MBR. “We needed a robust solution that we could deploy without delay, so we could hit the ground running.”
The eRAD platform allows MBR to streamline both the clinical and business workflows of the department. eRAD PACS automates the reading workflow for substantial gains in efficiency. For example, prior studies can be pre-staged to a specific workstation for later comparison, and hanging protocols can correspond with a radiologist’s preferences for that modality and be altered on-the-fly. These and other PACS features help radiologists achieve faster report turnaround times alongside superior image quality.
eRAD RIS allows administrators and clinicians complete visibility into every aspect of the department—from patient waiting room times to productivity trends and equipment utilization rates. Through a seamless interface with the billing system, eRAD RIS promotes billing integrity. MBR can be confident because “caught” codes and other billing issues are minutely tracked and reported on in eRAD RIS.
“We’re a good fit for customers like MBR,” said Yossi Avniel, eRAD’s General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “They needed a clean solution that would work right out of the box, without having to worry about downtime or system issues. And eRAD is the right technology, backed by an expert support team, to help MBR deliver optimal care at Pinehaven. We’re thrilled to have them as part of our growing network in South Africa.”
