Apple had to slightly change its timeline of product announcements last year due to the pandemic. However, the company is expected to implement its more familiar schedule this fall, such as bringing back the iPhone 13 event to September. However, the rumor mill suggests that it may not be the only device lineup that could be unveiled next month.
iPhone 13 series
There is almost no doubt about the iPhone 13 series launching in September, so the only thing Apple fans are asking right now is when exactly that will happen. A report from IT Home earlier this week suggests that customers can start placing their orders on Sept. 17, which could mean that the launch event could happen the Tuesday before that -- Sept. 14.
Jon Prosser, who has had accurate release date leaks before, has corroborated the report and stated that an Apple event for the iPhone 13 is slated on Sept. 14. That also suggests that the official invite for Apple’s first fall 2021 event could go live on Sept. 7.
Apple Watch Series 7
The Apple Watch Series 7 is another very likely product to launch next month, considering that Apple typically uses its September event to unveil new mobile devices. And this year’s smartwatch lineup is rumored to be significantly redesigned as well.
More recently, the Apple Watch Series 7 is rumored to ship with new case sizes 41mm and 45mm. Shortly after this was reported, a supposed live photo of an Apple Watch Series 7 band was leaked with a “41mm” marking.
New iPads
Based on reports over the previous weeks, 2021 could also be a big year for the iPad line. Apple has already announced major upgrades for the iPad Pro tablets last April, and the company is rumored to unveil a redesigned iPad mini 6 this fall. The small tablet is expected to have a larger screen and adopt the no-physical-home-button design as seen on iPad Pro and iPad Air.
A new entry-level iPad has been mentioned several times in the rumor mill as well. The tablet is expected to get an upgrade with the A13 chipset. While it will still have the traditional iPad design, its form factor is reportedly thinner.
AirPods 3
The announcement of a new AirPods is a long time coming. The AirPods 3 was once rumored to be unveiled during Apple’s spring 2021 event, and it is now back in the rumor mill with an anticipated launch this fall. Production of AirPods 3 reportedly started this month, while Prosser said his sources also mentioned the wireless earbuds as a likely device to launch on Sept. 14.
