“American Horror Story” season 9 is on its way and it is expected to be a big follow-up to season 8’s “Apocalypse” installment that concluded in November 2018. Specific details about the upcoming ninth season are scarce but theories and predictions are everywhere and below are the things that we know so far.
Filming
Comic Book reported that filming for “American Horror Story” season 9 is set to start this June. Needless to say, Ryan Murphy will still lead the production team as the director and he will be supported by executive producers that include Brad Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, Jessica Sharzer, Tim Minear and Dante Di Loreto.
FX Networks’ Head John Landgraf also assured fans that the drama will not end after “American Horror Story” season 9. He said that the plan to end the show soon is not in their cards.
“Up to Ryan Murphy,” Deadline quoted the FX’s head as saying. “It’s up to how long he wants to keep going and how many years he has inspired ideas.”
Plot/Crossover
While there is still no announcement about the concept for the “American Horror Story” season 9, Ryan Murphy hinted that it will feature crossovers that the viewers really like. Season 8 came up with a crossover story between the “Coven” and “Murder House” and it was praised by the fans, so the director stated that they are planning the same crossover events in the upcoming season, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
As for the theories, fans are predicting that “American Horror Story” season 9 may go for an alien theme because this was a popular request in the past. Plus, fans pointed out that in season 8, there were references to the aliens especially the scene where In Outpost 3, the Carpenters' track titled the "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" was played.
Fans also suggest that “American Horror Story” season 9 may simply continue where “Apocalypse” left off instead of featuring a new theme. However, this is not likely since the eighth season was neatly wrapped up.
Finally, “American Horror Story” season 9 is predicted to return in fall 2019.
