Pantera Capital, leading blockchain investment firm and one of the largest institutional owners of bitcoins, has announced the departure of its partner and chief technology officer Steven Waterhouse.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Steve Waterhouse is an experienced entrepreneur and investor with a deep and broad business and technical background. A source from the bitcoin and blockchain-focused venture capital firm told CoinDesk.com that Waterhouse “was not a fit” for the company given its current ambitions. Pantera saw Waterhouse as one of its key members who spoke on behalf of the VC firm at industry conferences and events.
Waterhouse’s LinkedIn profile shows that he was the partner of the investment firm since its inception and left the company last month. He also served as a board member at Bitstamp and now defunct social tipping startup ChangeTip. He is currently serving as an advisor at Firestartr, that builds revolutionary digital businesses and a board member at Speak With Me, a voice assistant platform provider.
Waterhouse’s departure follows the closure of Pantera Venture Fund II, its latest investment fund aimed at new initiatives in the industry, CoinDesk reported.
