“Blue Bloods” season 10 is anticipated even if the ninth season is still airing. However, there is no news yet if the crime drama is getting another go signal from CBS.
All drama’s renewal is hinged on how it performed during a season. So, with “Blue Bloods” season 9 current rating, will it be canceled or renewed?
As per TV Series Finale, in case of “Blue Bloods” season 10, it is not clear if CBS will order new episodes because while its viewership ratings dipped, its rank in the best and most watched is still good.
In other words, “Blue Bloods” is still loved but its ratings are posing a problem because it is going downhill. Based on Nielsen’s record, the series’ overall viewership went down by more or less five percent beginning from the eight season. It was said that while this is not a big plunge, it may be an indication that it is slowly fading and the viewers may be moving away as the show continue.
What’s more, Tom Selleck revealed that none of the cast members has renewed their contracts yet for “Blue Bloods” season 10. But then again, the veteran actor said that this is not really something to worried about because it is typical for actors to negotiate new contracts every year or semi-annually.
“Typically, most cast members sign contracts for six or seven years upon joining a show, and then after that they tend to negotiate on an annual or semi-annual basis,” Tom Selleck said in his interview with CBS 58. “A lot of it depends on each actor’s desire to continue the show, the monetary value of the contract, studio demands, or other factors.”
In case “Blue Bloods” season 10 is renewed, the police procedural will still star Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan), Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan), Will Estes (Jamie Reagan), Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan) and Vanessa Ray (Eddie Janko). And, Jamie and Eddie’s wedding might finally happen in this installment.
Meanwhile, “Blue Bloods” season 9 will return with episode 16 titled “Past Tense.” It will be on air this March 8 at 10 p.m. after a two-week break.
