Carrie Underwood gave birth to her second son with Mike Fisher six weeks ago. They named him Jacob Bryan and the couple has been staying home to care for him full time. They rarely go out so when the “Cry Pretty” singer was spotted out in public, it made news.
Carrie Underwood was seen at a public event on Tuesday night as she watched a hockey game. A fan requested a selfie with her and the photo was posted on Instagram. The snap was picked up by fans and the media because as said before, it was the first public outing of the singer since giving birth in January.
The fan, whose profile name on Instagram is Derek Damich, uploaded the picture with the caption, “Met Carrie Underwood at the Pens game today! #penswin #pens #carrieunderwood.” Apparently, they were watching a match between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers on March 5 when the encounter took place.
Now, while Carrie Underwood looks great in her oversized hockey shirt, it was said that she needs to lose weight due to her upcoming shows and other projects. But Life and Style magazine wrote that Mike Fisher’s wife is not in a hurry to shed the extra weight she gained from pregnancy and post childbirth.
Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher were very open in saying that they love to stay at home with their kids and the former is enjoying her role as a new mom once again. She loves it that she does not have work to do and just focus on taking care of her family.
But then, her current stay-at-home mom status will end soon and she has to get back to shape. Although Carrie Underwood said that she is no ready to hit the gym yet, she is expected to work out again in a couple more weeks.
“Carrie is enjoying her time at home with the boys so much,” the source told Life and Style. “She loves just nesting and focusing on her family. She’s in no rush to get back into work mode or spend hours working out.”
The insider added that Carrie Underwood is scheduled to make her first post-childbirth public appearance as a singer next month so she can already feel the pressure to lose weight. “She has rehearsals and fittings for her tour coming up and knows that she will have to start focusing on work again,” the source said.
