“Cobra Kai” Season 2 will be intensifying the rivalry between Johnny (William Zabka) and Daniel (Ralph Macchio) to the detriment of all their students. While the previous season got both characters to grow and reflect on the things that they’ve done in the past, it seems that their competitive nature will be taking over once again.
This is doubly true for Johnny since his mentor, Kreese (Martin Cove), will be returning in his life. And it seems that the reunion will drastically affect how Johnny will teach his students. The trailer of “Cobra Kai” Season 2 saw Kreese employing his “mercy is for the weak” principle, which will not be in line with the character growth that Johnny underwent during the first entry, IGN reported.
As such, it’s speculated that at some point during the second installment, Johnny will be butting heads with his mentor over the principles that they’re following. If this comes to pass, it will be another great layer for the character as it will highlight the transformation of his violent younger self into his growing understanding. And it’s for this reason that others are predicting that Daniel and Johnny will finally find peace between them by the end of “Cobra Kai” Season 2.
This, too, has been hinted in the trailer of the second installment. The line “inner peace” by Daniel whispers that he may try to find middle ground with Johnny, at the least. Sure, they may not like each other all that well. But even enemies can respect each other. Before that can happen, however, the story of “Cobra Kai” Season 2 will build itself into a tension-filled struggle that will change the perspective of everyone caught in the conflict.
The upcoming installment will undoubtedly be yet another great entry for this series and fans can’t wait to see what the writers have come up this time around. And as things are coming full circle, those who have been rooting for Daniel in the past found themselves relating to Johnny more and more. This isn’t surprising given that Johnny’s journey has been the most compelling plot to watch. As for the release date of “Cobra Kai” Season 2, fans can stream all its episode on Youtube Premium this coming April 24.
