SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 20, 2017 -- Cohesity, the pioneer of hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced that 1105 Enterprise Computing Group’s “Virtualization & Cloud Review” selected Cohesity for its 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards.
News Facts
- Cohesity was named to Virtualization & Cloud Review’s annual “Editor’s Choice” list that recognizes the 25 products that “hold a special place in the editor’s heart,” including tools they rely on every day, as well as ones that make them excited for the future.
- The Cohesity platform was selected by the publication’s Contributing Editor Brien Posey, a 15-time Microsoft MVP with over two decades of IT experience, including serving as chief information officer for a national chain of hospitals and healthcare facilities and also the lead network engineer for the U.S. Department of Defense at Fort Knox.
- This is the last of several 2017 product accolades Cohesity’s platform has received, including Europe’s SVC Award for “Hyperconvergence Company of the Year,” NetEvents’ Innovation Leader Award in “Cloud/Datacentre Category,” CODiE Award Finalist for “Best Storage and Back Up Solution,” and Tech TrailBlazer Storage Award for “Hyperconverged Secondary Storage Platform.”
Comments
“Over the past year or so, Cohesity has done two things that land it squarely on my list of winners,” said Virtualization & Cloud Review’s Contributing Editor Brien Posey. “First, Cohesity treats hypervisors as just another service to be backed up. This means that the administrative experience, which is designed to be completely intuitive, remains largely the same whether you’re backing up SQL Server, VMware or Hyper-V. This year, Cohesity also introduced cloud-based Cohesity clusters. Cohesity originally leveraged an on-premises hyper-converged infrastructure known as a Cohesity cluster. While this appliance remains at the heart of its approach to backups, it’s been working with public cloud providers to enable on-premises Cohesity clusters to be replicated to cloud-based clusters.”
“Virtualization & Cloud Review has a very discerning group of editors who actually use the technologies on which they report,” said Patrick Rogers, vice president of marketing and product management, Cohesity. “This award validates Cohesity’s innovative product strategy, and we’re thrilled to be one of this year’s 25 honorees.”
