Construction Industry's Premium Event Brings Stakeholders Together for Mutual Success
End Users, Contractors and Ironworkers Will Converge in Orlando To Network and Build Mutual Success
The Iron Workers (IW) and Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT) will bring together owners, contractors and ironworkers to address timely industry topics and build mutual success. The event brings record-breaking attendance every year.
Themed "Safer! Faster! Stronger!" the conference seeks to strengthen relationships between ironworkers, contractors and end users. The conference's general and breakout sessions are designed to cater to owners in meeting their project expectations and provide ironworkers and their contractors a platform to showcase portfolios, expertise and skills.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hone business acumen, learn best practices from industry experts, garner tips to foster business growth and network – all under one roof. This year's conference will cover timely industry topics, including but not limited to the 2018 economic outlook, measures to achieve zero incidents, job site safety and safety management, evaluating competency, Lean construction, diversity, recruiting and workforce development, emerging technology and public-private partnerships.
“We all need to learn from each other,” said Chris Buckman, vice president of corporate construction, BMWC Constructors, Inc. at last year’s conference in San Diego. “I learn a lot from other contractors and labor organizations, and that’s the beauty of this conference. We share our experiences and learn to become better in the industry.”
On Tuesday, February 13, a panel of owners will share insights on a variety of relevant issues during the general session.
“I’m really inspired by the ironworkers’ passion to reinvent themselves and embrace innovation,” said Acrylates Production Director of Dow Chemical Co. Sharon Hughs, participating in the conference owners’ panel last year. “That’s key in our industry – to not rest on mistakes of the past or to laud ourselves on the accomplishments of the past but to treat each day as a new opportunity”.
In addition to the educational breakout sessions, this year’s conference will feature a host of prominent speakers. Please visit the conference website at http://bit.ly/2018IMPACTConference for details.
"Iron Workers/IMPACT Conference is the premium industry event for ironworkers, contractors and owners," said IMPACT CEO Kevin Hilton. "The level of interest we've seen in IMPACT and the conference in the past few years is truly a testament to the value of our programs."
