“Criminal Minds” season 14 ended on Feb. 6 and many viewers were surprised at how the finale went. The 15th episode of season 14 was titled “Truth or Dare” and it showed JJ’s (A.J. Cook) “out of the blue” love confession and it was predicted that this will negatively affect her relations with her family and friends especially the BAU team.
In any case, JJ’s confession was actually sort of forced because she needed to survive. It can be recalled that her life was threatened and revealing her secret was what spared her life. She told Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) that she loved him for a long time but scared to admit it, probably, because she is married with kids already.
Fans would like to see what will happen to JJ in “Criminal Minds” season 15 which was confirmed to be the last season. Erica Messer, the drama’s showrunner shared a bit of how they will handle JJ and Reid’s story in the next and final installment.
"It will definitely be explored. Ultimately, it goes down to the relationships that people have been watching and seeing how they’ve grown over the years,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “There’s something real in people who have worked together for a super long time -- certainly in law enforcement, where it’s life and death.”
She went on to say, “You have a bond with people that can’t be defined. It’s one in times of incredible stress. We wanted to be able to acknowledge that but also be completely aware that this is going to be a bomb for a lot of people."
“Criminal Minds” season 15 is also likely to delve into Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Krystall’s (Gail O'Grady) married life as season 14 ended with their wedding. Meanwhile, the air date for the final season is not available yet at this time.
