Exciting times await in “Dr. Stone” chapter 162 as both empires of science are building what they think would give them the advantage over their rival. Meanwhile, leaks for the next release suggests it will focus mainly on Chrome working on the Diggerific Rotating Impelling Land-Eating Loop Knife, or simply DRILL.
‘Dr. Stone’ chapter 162 spoilers: Chrome finishes the DRILL soon?
For a brief recap, Stan shot Senku that was supposed to kill the main protagonist and it also seems like Xeno’s people are now under the assumption that they succeeded. However, Senku knew it would happen so he was equipped with some sort of bulletproof object, though he was still severely injured and cannot lead the current activities of the Kingdom of Science. He then entrusted his abilities to Chrome.
Even Chrome had hesitations when Senku made him the acting leader while he recovers. But fans will continue to see Chrome embrace his new responsibilities in “Dr. Stone” chapter 162. Right now his leadership manifests in designing and building of DRILL that would help them dig a secret tunnel so forces of Kingdom of Science could sneak up into Xeno’s hideout.
The few pages of “Dr. Stone” chapter 162 that got leaked showed that several panels are dedicated to showing the progress of building the DRILL including an entire page featuring a hard-at-work Chrome. The colored cover page also shows Chrome front and center with a functioning DRILL above him.

This image shows it might not be a simple drilling machine as it could be also be used for transportation. So the DRILL might be able to dig up the tunnel while also carrying members of the Kingdom of Science into their destination.

It should also be noted that Xeno instructed Brody to build something that the manga has yet to unveil. Interestingly, this is also slated to be completed in two weeks -- the same timeline Chrome has for the DRILL. Some fans might not like the potentially fast-tracked completion of Chrome’s DRILL in “Dr. Stone” chapter 162. But it the two-week timeskip is also likely to lead to an intense battle soon.
