The second installment of “Dr. Stone” has been announced, and fans are truly excited. It is one of the most-watched animes and has many followers in different parts of the world.
Finally, the wait is over, and the new episodes of Riichiro Inagaki’s anime will be available in just a few weeks more. Since its debut, the Japanese animation adapted from its original manga series has been popular and continues to attract viewers, which is why season 2 is possible.
New details on episodes and cour
As fans wait for the new installment of the anime, new information about it have emerged on social media. The detail was shared by Sugoi LITE, a known provider of exclusive info and leaks on popular anime.
In one of its recent posts, it revealed that season 2 will only have one cour. It was explained that with this limited number, it means that the next installment will only be able to release at least 12 or 13 episodes in all.
“TV anime "Dr. STONE: Season 2" is listed with only 1 cour,” Sugoi LITE simply tweeted on Dec. 15.
This is most likely true due to the availability of materials. The production team only has a few chapters available to work on. The “Stone Wars” arc is surely shorter than the first season, but it promises to be packed with action and interesting twists.
Spoilers - What to expect and release date
Based on the official synopsis of the said anime, Senku will continue to rebuild the world. Together with his close friends and allies, they will use Science to re-start civilization, starting from depetrifying everyone and everything on Earth.
Also, as shown in the latest promotional video, the “Stone Wars” arc will focus on the battle between the Science believers and those who do not. This means a clash between Tsukasa and Senku.
The video also showed three new characters, and all of them are joining Tsukasa’s Empire. These three are Saionji Ukyo, Yo Uei, and Hanada Niki. Finally, as per the announcement, the next season of “Dr. Stone” is coming this Jan. 14, 2021. It will be released via Crunchyroll.
