DuPont Safety & Construction (DuPont), a DowDuPont Specialty Products Division business, has partnered with SkyCell, a division of Smart Containers Group – a Swiss-based manufacturer utilizing blockchain technology to deliver temperature-controlled containers for food and pharmaceuticals.
Under the partnership, SkyCell and DuPont will share data collection know-how in the area of cold chain transportation of temperature sensitive goods. They will bring together their service offerings to address the emerging requirements of the global supply chain sector.
The alliance will leverage SkyCell’s temperature-controlled containers and its logger and data platforms for DuPont Tyvek Cargo Covers, the most innovative pallet blanket for pharmaceuticals, to ensure the safe delivery of pharmaceuticals world-wide. In addition, both companies together can find better solutions to the cold chain market.
Introduced in 2013, Tyvek Cargo Covers have helped protect the health of millions of patients worldwide by providing proven protection against temperature excursions, rain, dust, pollen, bird droppings, insects, and other sources of contamination for pharmaceutical shipments.
“DuPont is deeply committed to the quality and integrity of our products, and to facilitating new dimensions of protection, security, and safety in a variety of industries – including pharmaceutical logistics. SkyCell shares our dedication to efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective services,” said Christian Marx, Vice President and General Manager for DuPont Tyvek & Typar.
SkyCell is a leading manufacturer of temperature-controlled containers for pharmaceuticals. According to the official release, 12 of the 20 largest pharmaceutical manufacturers globally have independently validated the service offering of SkyCell and implemented its usage into their supply chain. SkyCell enjoys world class partnerships with major airlines, including CargoLux and Emirates SkyCargo.
“We are excited to be entering into the next stage of our journey by collaborating with DuPont for their Tyvek Cargo Covers, a trusted brand of protection in pharmaceutical logistics. With a shared vision of innovation in the supply chain of sensitive pharmaceuticals, this alliance shall help us to ensure that consumers are guaranteed a safe, sustainable service and further improve the offering through a data-driven approach,” said Richard Ettl, CEO of SkyCell.
