FromSoftware has announced the official PC system requirements for “Elden Ring” just a little over a week before its launch. While fans have different opinions on whether or not the specs listed are demanding, they are mostly composed of processors and graphics cards that are several years old already.
It can be recalled that the minimum specs for “Elden Ring” were leaked recently. And they turn out to be the exact official requirements needed to play the game. To recap, PC gamers will need a computer with processors Intel Core i5-8400 (released in 2017) or the more recently launched AMD Ryzen 3 3300X at the very least.
For the GPU, “Elden Ring” will require an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 with 3GB and 4GB video RAM, respectively. The needed PC memory is higher than usual, though, at 12GB. But it should not be surprising considering that the game is being released during the latest generation of gaming hardware.

The developer did not specify yet the graphics settings available in “Elden Ring.” But FromSoftware also released the list of “recommended” specs that will likely allow the game to run at a higher fidelity and faster frame rates. The recommended specs include Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X CPUs, GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56 for GPU, 8GB video RAM, and 16GB PC memory.
“Elden Ring” will be playable on PCs with Windows 10 or Windows 11. The game requires an available 60GB storage space and DirectX 12.
Last November, Bandai Namco released an FAQ confirming that “Elden Ring” will support ray tracing through a patch that could be released post-launch. The publisher also announced at the time that the game will have a Performance Mode, allowing the game to perform at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. However, as of this writing, the said FAQ page appears to have been taken down.
“Elden Ring” has received several awards for being the most anticipated game. It introduces a new world called the Lands Between that was famously crafted with “Game of Thrones” creator George R.R. Martin, alongside “Dark Souls” creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. The game will be released on Feb. 25 and will be available on PS4 and Xbox One as well.
