Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s continuing celebration of love after more than a decade of being together is not enough to stop the divorce rumors. Recently, a wild claim surfaced saying the talk show host availed a package of plastic surgeries costing her $1 million reportedly to avoid de Rossi from dumping her.
Said report came from Globe after a plastic surgeon claimed to have insider news about DeGeneres. Though the unidentified doctor did not say de Rossi’s wife was ever their patient, the source called DeGeneres’ appearance a “new million-dollar face” before adding, “It’s quite obvious she underwent a full face-lift – and everything else, as well.”
The rumor did not stop there as the source insisted DeGeneres paid that amount of money for plastic surgeries so de Rossi will not leave her. But Gossip Cop debunked Globe’s report after reaching to friends of DeGeneres and de Rossi.
Other factors that make these divorce rumors hard to believe are right in the social media pages of DeGeneres and de Rossi. Earlier this month, the two shared to their millions of followers how a 15th anniversary hilariously failed but still made for a very romantic celebration. De Rossi’s support for DeGeneres’ return to stand-up comedy has also been exceptional.
It has also been 15 years since DeGeneres did a stand-up comedy show. But an opportunity came up as de Rossi’s wife partnered with Netflix. Her show “Relatable” started streaming since Dec. 18.
While DeGeneres is famously known for spreading messages of love and kindness through her talk show, her career really started by doing stand-up comedy shows for two decades. Though she said being constantly on the road was “a lonely life,” de Rossi’s long-time partner wanted to challenge herself and see if she can still pull the perfectly timed puns 15 years later.
Interestingly, DeGeneres’ decision to start doing stand-up again happens when she also admitted about considering ending her talk show run by 2020. In a profile published by the New York Times, she revealed that de Rossi prefers for her to retire from her TV job. “I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and stand-up that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity. There are other things she could tackle,” de Rossi explained.
