There have been claims that Eminem is deeply worried that the United States government is spying on him. But these were denied by one of his representatives, according to a recent report.
A lot of artists, including Eminem, are also very vocal about certain political issues even before Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States. And according to one report, this resulted in Eminem being paranoid that government-backed spies are watching his moves.
Fact-checking site Gossip Cop cited a reported from the National Enquirer which claimed that Eminem became too paranoid about the supposed spying. He purportedly ended up wrapping his house and hotel rooms with aluminum foil. Apart from allegedly turning his home into a huge Faraday cage, Eminem also reportedly did not like sending messages via emails in fear of having his devices hacked.
Aluminum foil is one of the most accessible materials in making a Faraday cage. Its components are believed to be effective equipment in blocking electromagnetic and electrostatic fields. This means that any signal, including those from unwanted, prying ears, cannot penetrate into a location or device to eavesdrop. After reports that several government agencies and private companies can tap into people’s private communication lines, the use of Faraday cages/bags has become a thing.
However, according to Gossip Cop, one of Eminem’s representative told them that claims made by the National Enquirer are not true. The website noted that Eminem’s spokesperson went on record with them stating that the paranoia reports were “absolutely untrue.”
Through the years of his career, Eminem’s best-selling albums almost always include a track where he makes his political criticisms loud and clear. In 2016, Eminem knew that Trump would win over Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and made known how he is not happy about that in “Campaign Speech.” But, more importantly, Eminem also attempted to shed light on other issues such as police brutality affecting people of color.
