As a show that has always featured over-the-top characters and crazy storylines since the beginning, it’s no surprise that the latest rumors about “Gotham” Season 5 involve Bane’s father. As one of the most iconic villains in the Batman universe, the character was the one who broke the caped crusader’s back. Now, rumors are circulating that the show is looking for an actor to play Bane’s father.
For those who might be disappointed that it will be Bane’s father who will appear in “Gotham” Season 5 instead of Bane himself, it’s worth pointing out that this only makes sense. With Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) yet to dawn his dark cape, introducing the supervillain would make for a messy affair.
It would seem that fans don’t need to worry, though, since the character who will be named Eduardo Dorrance sounds like quite the intense person. Based on how he is described, Eduardo will be a strong soldier who does have a code to go along with his cause, Carter Matt reports. Comic book readers will likely remember him as King Snake, as well, which should make “Gotham” Season 5 even more interesting.
On that note, it’s unlikely that the majority of the focus will be on this character, especially considering just how much was happening during the show’s season 4 finale. “Gotham” Season 5 will also be featuring the aftermath of the explosive events, which could finally lead to Bruce Wayne deciding that he needs to become a legend.
At this point, it is also unclear where Eduardo’s loyalties will lie, Cinemablend notes. Will he be joining one of the existing factions in “Gotham” Season 5 or will he set off on his own? Fans will simply need to wait until the premiere of the next season in early 2019 to find out.
