Fans of IO Interactive’s popular stealth video game series will celebrate the New Year the right way with the release of “Hitman 3’s” first five minutes of gameplay. Agent 47 will reach for the skies, quite literally, as he takes out his first two targets in the upcoming game.
‘Hitman 3’ first 5-minute gameplay premieres on New Year
The first mission is set in Dubai in a fictional skyscraper called Burj Al-Ghazali described as the tallest building in the world. The first five-minute gameplay, revealed by Game Informer, opens with a quick rundown of the mission and a preview of the targets’ current status and locations.
“Hitman 3” action begins with Agent 47 outside one of the top floors of Burj Al-Ghazali and the first task is to infiltrate the building without being discovered and blend into the crowd. The mission coincides with the official launch of the skyscraper, which is also called The Sceptre in the game.
The targets in the Dubai mission are Marcus Stuyvesant and Carl Ingram, who will be in different areas in the building. Marcus may seem like an easier target because he is currently not surrounded by guards, but he is visiting a crowded art installation at the start of “Hitman 3” making the situation much more complicated. Carl, on the other hand, is isolated in his penthouse but he is on high alert with plenty of guards protecting him.
The first five-minute gameplay does not show the end of the mission because the results would differ for every player. However, it is a good chance to get a glimpse of how the graphics are improved in “Hitman 3.”
Fans are also noticing Agent 47’s movements are looking better on the screen, especially when climbing up the building and jumping from one surface to another. The outdoor scenery looks quite realistic in “Hitman 3,” too. Inside the building, the shadow effects are also noteworthy as well as the way the sun rays penetrate the glass walls.
‘Hitman 3’ release date set in January 2021
It is not surprising that the “Hitman 3” gameplay preview has been released right at the start of the new year since it will be released on Wednesday, Jan. 20. The game is still available for pre-order and can be played on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. To get the game on PC, players will have to purchase it through Epic Games Store for its first year in the market.
