Sacramento, Dec. 14, 2017 -- Luxer One, the technology leader in smart package delivery solutions, is reporting an 83% increase in package deliveries in just one week. Luxer One manages package delivery for over 1,200 apartment communities across the United States through its package locker and automated package room technology.
The company found the almost-double increase in packages when comparing delivery volume between the week before and after Black Friday. “Based on our experience with the holiday package rush, we knew there would a significant spike in deliveries as a result of retailers’ online Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals,” says Arik Levy, CEO of Luxer One.
The company is also reporting a 44% increase in total package delivery volume comparing November 2016 to November 2017. “This is a powerful indicator of an increased consumer preference for online shopping this year. The same shoppers are opting to buy online significantly more than they were last year because it has become easier to receive their packages at home with package lockers,” says Levy.
The pre-holiday report also found that package recipients have been picking up their packages 43% faster since Thanksgiving weekend. Residents at apartment buildings with package lockers are able to pick up their packages 24/7, on their own schedule, and have been more eager to pick up their packages faster during the holiday shopping rush.
Luxer One experienced a sharp 112% uptick in deliveries sent to its oversized locker as well, specifically for the purpose of overflow package acceptance. During the weeks leading up to Christmas, most package locker systems reach their capacity. Communities with Luxer One have started accepting overflow of deliveries in their oversized locker since it is capable of containing more than one package at a time.
As December continues, the holiday shopping season puts a strain on many last-mile delivery locations. Luxer One’s automated package lockers ease this strain for apartment communities, offices, retailers, and more. “The biggest challenge with package delivery is getting the goods into the hands of the recipient. With Luxer One, we’ve built a solution that can keep up with spikes in delivery and still provide a convenient package management experience in any setting,” concludes Levy.
