FREMONT, Calif., Jan. 12, 2017 -- Identiv, Inc. (NASDAQ:INVE) today announced the launch of the next generation of its uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker, a low-cost, portable, powered smart sensor that tracks and stores temperature readings. In addition to its low cost and small form factor, it can be read by any near field communication (NFC) reader, such as a mobile phone, and uploaded to the Internet for analytic purposes. A smart sensor for the Internet of Things (IoT) market, Identiv’s uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker empowers businesses in a broad range of markets, including cold chain and healthcare, by providing low-cost temperature monitoring for virtually anything.
Identiv’s innovative uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker solution addresses the critical needs for applications that are temperature conscious. As a turnkey solution for the IoT market, the combined temperature tag, mobile application, and cloud service delivers a unique platform to manage an entire population of NFC smart tags, measuring and storing precise temperature readings at any time, as well as performing cloud-based analytics and remediation to guarantee the control and integrity of goods. Use cases include monitoring and tracking of temperature-sensitive products for cold chain applications, medical products and pharmaceutical logistics, and other fragile goods, including items such as fresh fish, wine, blood, vaccines, flowers, and more. This innovative solution is the result of a partnership between NXP® Semiconductors, Syntel, Enfucell, and Identiv.
“We are excited by the outcome of this collaboration,” said Stefan De Troch, NXP Director of Product Management. “Identiv’s uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker constitutes a comprehensive end-to-end smart sensor solution. It is powered by NXP’s NHS3100, a highly integrated IC capable of accurately sensing, logging, and securely transferring data between sensor and cloud. NHS3100 is the first in a series of NFC-enabled sensing solutions for smart packaging in logistics, healthcare delivery, and other applications.”
“The small form factor and innovative design empowers organizations to enable temperature logging at an item level and not just at the pallet or package level,” said Narendra Naidu, Syntel IoT Practice Director. “The integrated solution includes a mobile app and a cloud IoT platform that allows business insights about several important parameters, including the number of scans, which products have experienced temperature excursions, how many, and in what geographies.”
“Enfucell is thrilled to see our thin and flexible SoftBattery® contributing to remarkable improvements in the logistics of pharmaceuticals and other perishable goods,” said Dr. Markku Ellilä, Enfucell CEO.
“Identiv is delighted to deliver this turnkey solution for the smart sensor market,” said Stephane Ardiley, Identiv Director of Product Management. “This demo kit contains breakthrough temperature tags, delivered as labels, that are fully calibrated according to ISO/IEC 17025. In this second generation, the secure tags deliver excellent temperature accuracy as well as embedded services to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of temperature records.”
Identiv’s uTrust Sense Temperature Tracker is a solution developed in partnership with Syntel, Enfucell, and NXP. To order a demo kit, please visit smartlabeldemo.com or call +1 888-809-8880.
