NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 13, 2017 -- DealCloud, a technology leader for CRM and deal management in the private capital markets, today unveiled DealCloud DataCortex, which leverages multiple data sources to enrich and augment a firm’s proprietary data, revolutionizing the way firms can source and originate deals, and manage relationships.

With the launch of DataCortex, DealCloud clients can search and query third party data sets directly from within the DealCloud platform. The resulting companies, contacts, and deal information are then matched and combined with each client’s proprietary data into a single cohesive record based on a client’s preferences. “This process is powered by a specially developed algorithm and recommendation engine that brings together the powerful combination of data and software,” explains Lokesh Seth, Chief Operating Officer, DealCloud. When new data is available or updates are provided to existing entries, these new data points can automatically be updated in a client’s DealCloud instance, significantly reducing the need for manual input and duplicate entries.
Unlike many CRM providers, who rely on iFrames to present third party data, DataCortex integrates information into each client’s DealCloud instance, enabling true Deal Relationship Management capabilities beyond simply logging phone calls and tracking contacts. Clients can then leverage their cohesive data sets in DealCloud’s business intelligence platform and mobile applications, with custom workflows and notifications for immediate actions.
Launch partners for DataCortex are DataFox, a driver of private company sourcing for investment professionals, and Sutton Place Strategies (SPS), an award-winning provider of actionable data for PE and M&A professionals. DataCortex enables access to 2,000,000 companies, a network of contacts, and 47,000 deals, providing firmographic and contact information. More data sources, partners, and enhanced machine learning capabilities are planned for future release.
“We truly believe this a game changer for the way deal professionals manage their sourcing and origination efforts, whether that be Private Equity, Growth, or Venture investors, or their M&A advisors and Investment Bankers. With increased competition in the market, and new funds forming every day, the need to home in on the right targets at the fastest speed is mission critical,” said Rick Kushel, Chief Executive Officer, DealCloud. “We can enable DealCloud DataCortex for clients to not only drive efficiency and speed, but also to uncover new opportunities they might not be aware of.”
“We are proud to be a launch partner with DealCloud in DataCortex. The combination of DataFox data and DealCloud technology will enable deal professionals to develop and source new business with a more cohesive and powerful sourcing experience,” said Bastiaan Janmaat, Chief Executive Officer, DataFox.
“Actionable data is critical to optimize business development and deal sourcing efforts. We are excited to partner with DealCloud in the launch of DataCortex to help investors and advisors maximize their effectiveness,” said Nadim Malik, Chief Executive Officer, Sutton Place Strategies.
